Bank Failure and FDIC Website

The news has been filled recently with information regarding the failure of IndyMac Bank, F.S.B. located in Pasadena California. We understand how the failure of IndyMac Bank, F.S.B. may make some of our customers feel uncomfortable with the stability of the banking industry. In these times, we are here to reassure our customers that Hoyne Savings Bank is financially stable, has significant capital reserves, and that we are a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

We encourage our customers to visit the FDIC website at www.fdic.gov. There is useful information and tools available on the website, but we want to concentrate on two things in particular. First, detailed financial information for banks is available ("Call and Thrift Financial Reports" link), and you can even compare data between banks ("Statistics on Depository Institutions" link). Second, a tool called the "Electronic Deposit Insurance Estimator" will assist you in calculating the amount of FDIC insurance coverage of your deposits.

In addition to visiting the FDIC website, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We are ready, willing and able to meet the needs of our community and serve our customers.
